2014 Dreams

I'm a HUGE fan of lists.  I know, you're so surprised, aren't you?  I make general lists for the week, lists for my blog, lists for the day, lists for the summer, etc. So, it should come as no surprise that I make a ton of playlists for almost every aspect of my life.  I have my running playlist, also known as "Born to Run" (Love Springsteen!), my "Sleep" playlist of all kinds of slow, relaxing music for when I need to mellow out, and my "Broadway" playlist of all the songs from the musicals I was in and have seen.  I used to make playlists from events, like prom and senior reception as well!  At the beginning of the year, I saw an article on Mind Body Green on starting the new year off on a positive note and one of the suggestions was to make a playlist for the year.  True to form, I did!

It started off as my dreams for the year, so I included songs that pumped me up, made me feel inspired, or just made me feel happy in general.  As the year progresses, though, I've been adding to it.  Now, I include songs from specific times throughout the year.  I included "Come Fly With Me" by Frank Sinatra and "Octopus' Garden" by the Beatles when I got accepted to go to London.  I included songs from the Under the Tent dance that my friends and I were literally screaming to ("Livin' on a Prayer", "Don't Stop Believing").  I remember this huge, swelling feeling from that night from the adrenaline, and when I listen to those songs, I'm instantly brought back.  I added a song that Brittany, Greg and I listened to on repeat the whole time we were driving into the city that Greg said gave you "instant swag" ("Latch").  So now, the "2014 Dreams" playlist has become a curation of all of the songs that have inspired me throughout the year, whether by memory or by hope.  It's my go-to playlist that never fails to put me in a good mood.

If you haven't made one yet, I highly recommend it!

Inspired to be,
